Why is massive so important?
Thickened table tops are of a lower quality than solid tops. With a thickened leaf, an edge is made on the sides under the leaf, making the leaf thicker
seems. A thickened top can be clearly recognized by the line that is visible on the side of the table and the difference in thickness under the top. Because wood works, there is a good chance that the edge will protrude slightly under the top.
