Why is massive so important?
Thickened table tops are of a lower quality than solid tops. With a thickened leaf, an edge is made on the sides under the leaf, making the leaf thicker
seems. A thickened top is clearly recognizable by the line that is visible on the side of the table and the difference in thickness under the top. Because wood works, there is a good chance that the edge will protrude slightly under the top.
